Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This website, 3rdpartysupport.com ("we", "us", "our"), is operated by 3rd Party Support, a provider of independent hardware and software maintenance services. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. To contact us about anything in this policy, use our contact page.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Quote requests: when you request a quote we collect your name, email address, company name, phone number (optional), and details of the equipment or software you want supported.
- Live chat: when you start a chat we collect your name, email address, and the content of your messages. Chat conversations are relayed to our support team through Microsoft Teams.
- Correspondence: anything you send us by email or through other channels.
Information collected automatically
- Search queries: searches you run on our product catalog are logged so we can improve search results and coverage.
- Ad attribution: if you arrive via an advertisement, we store the ad click identifier (such as a Google click ID) and campaign parameters in your browser's local storage for up to 90 days, and attach them to a quote or chat request if you submit one. This helps us understand which advertising works.
- Site usage: we operate our own first-party analytics, which records the pages you view, how long you spend on them and how far you scroll, your catalog searches, your IP address, browser type, and the site or campaign that referred you. This activity is linked to a random visitor identifier stored in a cookie, and is associated with your name and email address if you submit a quote request or start a chat.
- Technical data: our servers and chat system may record your IP address and the page you arrived on.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Ads conversion tracking (Google tag), which sets cookies to measure whether our advertising leads to enquiries. Google may process this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. We also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request (including your IP address) to Google's servers. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies beyond conversion measurement.
We also set a single first-party analytics cookie ("tps_vid") containing a random identifier, valid for up to 12 months. It is used only for our own visitor analytics described above — it is never shared with or sold to third parties, and it does not track you on other websites.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and clear the ad attribution record by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
4. How we use your information
- To respond to your quote requests and chat messages, and to prepare pricing and coverage proposals.
- To provide and administer support services if you become a customer.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
- To improve our website, product catalog, and search.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We process this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and operating our services, your consent where required, and the performance of a contract where you engage us.
5. Who we share it with
- Our group companies and support engineers, so the right specialists can handle your enquiry.
- Service providers that host our website, database, and email, and Microsoft (Teams) for live chat delivery, and Google for advertising measurement.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, or to protect our rights, customers, or others.
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
6. Data retention
We keep enquiry and lead records for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for business records. Ad attribution data stored in your browser expires after 90 days. Anonymous visitor analytics — browsing activity never linked to a name or email — is deleted after 13 months. If you'd like information about you deleted, contact us and we will action the request unless we're legally required to retain it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, reach us via the contact page. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and limiting access to those who need it to handle your enquiry. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Our services are aimed at businesses. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
11. Contact
